Daily habits can eventually lead to wear and tear on your teeth, which may result in crooked, stained or chipped teeth.

The good news is you don’t need to live with these imperfections. Modern dentistry and cosmetic technologies makes it possible to reset the clock and get you back to your brilliant self with a dazzling smile, regardless of the current state of your natural teeth. There are many ways to achieve this, but one of the best is with porcelain veneers.

Our Process

It’s a real point of difference in that we can honestly say, the team at Keys have perfected using dental porcelain veneers and put hundreds and thousands of smiles back into the community. Together with our dental technicians, we create lifelike veneers that mimic natural, healthy teeth; putting more smiles on dials, and restoring self confidence!

During your appointment, we will do a photographic analysis of your smile. We’ll also take impressions to provide a mock-up so we can analyse the shape and form that best compliments your face. Once the mock-up has been tried-in and we are all happy with the result, our ceramist gets to work fabricating the ceramic veneers. We use the highest quality porcelain to ensure that the veneer fits seamlessly into your mouth and looks as a natural as ever.

You will need four appointments to complete the process. Your first visit is a consultation where we figure out your treatment plan. We will also take the initial impressions so we can get to work on making your mock-up.

In your second appointment, you will get to try the mock up veneers so you can get a good idea of what the end visual result is going to look like.

In your third appointment, we do the veneer preparation. The length of this appointment will depend on the number of teeth that we will be preparing.

In your final visit, we insert the veneers. Again, the length of this appointment will depend on the number of veneers. Once it’s done, we send you on your way with a gorgeous smile, beeming with confidence! The confidence comes instantaneously!

Time for service

Your initial consultation takes just 30 minutes.

We follow that up with a veneer prep appointment which takes between 90 and 120 minutes.

In your third appointment, we do the veneer insertion. This taken anything from 40 to 70 minutes depending on number of veneers.

The FAQ’s on Porcelain Veneers

Who is a good candidate for porcelain veneers?Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

Actualy, veneers are pretty flexible. So anyone who is unhappy with their smile as it is is a suitable candidate for porcelain veneer treatments. That said, the quality of your existing teeth do need to be taken into consideration. If we find that the condition is too poor and that the expense of the veneer will outweigh the longevity of the treatment, then we will suggest alternative cosmetic treatments, like dental implants or a bridge. So if we feel there’s a different cosmetic procedure that will yield better results, we’ll discuss that with you. To find out if you’re a candidate for porcelain veneers, give us a ring and we’ll book you in for an obligation-free consultation so you can discuss your options with one of our experts.

What are Porcelain Veneers?Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

Porcelain veneers are made from a thin shell of medical-grade porcelain. This is then permanently bonded to the front surface of your tooth to improve its position, shade and shape.

Once placed, porcelain veneers can transform spaced, aged, worn, broken, crooked, stained or discoloured teeth, reinventing your smile.

How long do veneers last? Do I ever need to get them replaced? Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

If looked after, veneers will usually last around 10 years or more.

Is the procedure painful? Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

Discomfort following this procedure is rare. But you might find that you are sensitive to cold foods and drinks for a few days after the procedure.

This is normal and is easily managed with over the counter analgesics such as Panadol and Nurofen.

How do I care for my veneers?Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

If you love your vaneers, your vaneers will love you back! How do you show your veneers love? By brushing twice daily for 2 minutes, flossing daily, and if it’s been recommended, by wearing a night guard at night.

Also, try to avoid eating hard foods like almonds, or cracking shells with the front of your veneers. We want you to keep that pearly white smile!

Are porcelain veneers permanent?Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

Porcelain veneers are considered a permanent solution. In the treatment, a very small part of the tooth is etched away. About 0.1 to 0.5 mm around the front and sides of the tooth. This ensures that the thin sheets of porcelain that we cement to the teeth will fit and look the natural size.

If necessary, we can remove veneers, but to retain the aesthetics, they should be replaced with new veneers.
