\nThe two treatments have plenty in common. Both are fixed, full-arch solutions built on titanium implants; both are designed to look and feel like natural teeth, and both can provide a set of fixed temporary teeth around the time of surgery.
\nThe difference comes down to the number of implants. All-on-6 uses two more implants than All-on-4. Those extra supports spread your bite force more evenly, shorten the unsupported spans within the bridge, and build in more redundancy across the arch.
\nThere is a trade-off, though. All-on-6 generally needs more jaw bone to work with, because it has to accommodate six implants. All-on-4 was designed around angled rear implants that can suit patients with less available bone, and it often avoids the need for grafting.
