One-size dentistry doesn’t fit all
At Keys Dental, we know there are no one-size-fits-all solutions, so we design your treatment to meet your individual needs. One way we do this is by practicing biological (or ‘holistic’) dentistry. Biological dentistry understands that your mouth – just like every other part of your body – is unique to you. And because problems in your mouth can impact other areas of your body, dentistry is fundamentally connected to your overall health and wellbeing.
A more holistic approach to oral health
The aim of biological dentistry is to make dental treatments more individualised, less toxic and less invasive. It’s all about providing you with effective dentistry that’s as safe as possible for your overall health. That can mean reducing your exposure to potentially harmful materials used in traditional dentistry – like aluminium, nickel and mercury – and prioritising the use of biocompatible materials instead. It can also mean seeking alternatives to procedures like root canals where less invasive options are available.
All backed by science
Science shows the connection between your oral health and your health overall. Having poor oral health is associated with major chronic diseases, and in reverse, overall health problems can make your oral health worse. Conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, and respiratory and kidney diseases can all impact or be impacted by the health of your mouth. Oral disease can also impact your social and mental health. That’s why, as biological dentists, we don’t just treat your teeth – we treat all of you, including your diet, lifestyle, and mental and emotional health.
