Your teeth are just one part of a bigger health picture

One-size dentistry doesn’t fit all

At Keys Dental, we know there are no one-size-fits-all solutions, so we design your treatment to meet your individual needs. One way we do this is by practicing biological (or ‘holistic’) dentistry. Biological dentistry understands that your mouth – just like every other part of your body – is unique to you. And because problems in your mouth can impact other areas of your body, dentistry is fundamentally connected to your overall health and wellbeing.

A more holistic approach to oral health

The aim of biological dentistry is to make dental treatments more individualised, less toxic and less invasive. It’s all about providing you with effective dentistry that’s as safe as possible for your overall health.

Reduced exposure to of harmful materials

Taking a holistic approach considers the body as a whole, it means Keys Dental aims to reduce your exposure to potentially harmful materials used in traditional dentistry – like aluminium, nickel and mercury – and prioritising the use of biocompatible materials instead. It can also mean seeking alternatives to procedures like root canals where less invasive options are available.

What does biological dentistry cover?

Interested in biological or holistic dentistry? At Keys Dental, our very own Dr Sam has you covered.

Amalgam removal

Amalgam is a substance often used for dental fillings that more and more people are choosing to have replaced. Amalgam fillings look silver, but they’re actually more than 50% mercury, which is a toxic substance that could cause health issues when used in dental fillings. We offer safe amalgam removal and filling replacements using biocompatible materials.

Our vacuum absorbs all the mercury before we use a rubber dam to isolate the treatment area. An oxygen mask and ozone gas ensure a safe and pain-free experience for our patients.

  • Amalgam removal
  • Gum and jaw disease treatment
  • Surgical tooth removal and PRF
  • Ceramic dental implants

Testimonials

This Dental clinic is the best I have ever been too. They made sure I was comfortable all the way through. They are professional and friendly. On my last visit I spoke about my son with special needs and this visit they suggested I come in with him so he can check the clinic and meet the dentist ect before I take him there. I love that they actually care. Highly recommend them

FAQ

What is the difference between holistic and regular dentistry?Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey
Traditional Dentistry:

This approach focuses on diagnosing and treating oral health issues, using established dental treatments and procedures. It addresses specific dental problems as they arise, treating them at a localised level with standard dental materials and procedures.

Holistic Dentistry:

This alternative approach emphasises the connection between dental health and overall well-being. It uses a combination of alternative therapies and conventional treatments, along with biocompatible materials and minimally invasive procedures. It also considers the impact of dental treatments on the body’s other systems and promotes preventative measures such as nutrition and lifestyle adjustments.

Is holistic dentistry the same as biological dentistry?Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

Holistic dentistry and biological dentistry are indeed the same, these terms are actually often used interchangeably. Both approaches focus on the integral connection between oral health and overall body health. They use minimally invasive approaches and consider the whole body when addressing dental issues. Holistic and Biological dental practises tend to be more cautious with the use of chemicals, fluoride treatments, and surgeries. At Keys Dental, you’re receiving care that considers your overall well-being, not just your oral health.
