Dental Emergencies? Here's What You Need To Know

We’re Ready for the Unexpected

No one expects them, but dental emergencies and accidents can happen. That’s why we plan for the unplanned. At Keys Dental, we keep several same-day appointments available to ensure our patients receive prompt care when urgent issues arise.

We can help with a range of urgent dental issues, including severe toothaches or sudden pain, swelling in the mouth or jaw, broken or chipped teeth, and dental trauma from accidents or injuries.

We want to get you smiling again as quickly as possible. For the best chance of securing an emergency appointment, we recommend calling first thing in the morning, as these spots can fill up quickly.

How Much Does Emergency Dental Treatment Cost?

Every dental emergency is different. In general, the cost of emergency dental treatment can range from $450 to $750, depending on the type and complexity of care required. We’ll always discuss your treatment options with you and provide a personalised cost estimate before any treatment begins, so there are no surprises.

After-Hours Dental Emergencies

We encourage you to check our opening hours so you know when we’re available. If a dental emergency occurs when Keys Dental is closed, there are two options for urgent care:

Contact Emergency Dentist Perth

For after-hours dental issues such as severe tooth pain, broken teeth, swelling, or dental trauma, we recommend contacting Emergency Dentist Perth.  They’re open Monday to Sunday, so help is always within reach.

Emergency Dental Care For Children

No one plans for emergency dental treatment, but sometimes it’s necessary. At Keys Dental, we want to see your child back to their happy, healthy self as quickly as possible. That’s why we reserve appointments each day specifically for dental emergencies.

Whether it’s a knocked-out tooth, sudden pain, or an injury, we’ll review your child’s situation promptly and provide treatment wherever possible. Our team is committed to gentle, compassionate care that puts your child’s comfort first.

There may be times when we recommend a referral to a specialist pediatric dentist for more complex cases—if so, we’ll discuss this with you during the emergency consultation to ensure the best care for your child.

FAQ’s

Absolutely! We will always treat anyone in need. Whether you have been to us before or not, we will do our best to get you out of pain and back to smiles as quickly as possible.

What if I am in pain but can’t afford the treatment? Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

We don’t want you to be in pain! Where we can we will provide you with the initial stages of treatment that will get you out of pain. Then we can arrange a treatment plan that will help you phase your treatment into more manageable portions to suit your finances.

We do provide onsite health fund claiming facilities and electronic payment facilities. We also accept ZipPay if you have an account set up with them.

I have facial swelling what should I do?Icons/Icon_ArrowDown_48x48_Grey

Facial swelling is not a good sign. It often indicates that you have a significant dental infection that is unlikely to heal on its own. First things first, you need to book an emergency appointment just to be sure.

Please do not wait to see if it will sort itself out. Dental infections that result in facial swelling can very quickly progress to other very serious medical conditions that may see you hospitalised. At the first sign of dental related facial swelling contact our team to arrange an emergency dental appointment so we can start treatment as soon as possible.
